So listeners, I’ve mentioned before that it can be really hard to track down fanart for this series, and I’m kind of surprised that someone like Maeve, who has such a distinctive look, doesn’t have more in the way of adoring artwork. There were only a couple pieces to choose from, and most of them had a particular outfit that we won’t be seeing until later on in the series, so they wouldn’t really work for this episode. I’m hoping that I can get some good artwork of certain upcoming characters, because I’m starting to be a little worried.
I love this series of chapters because finally meeting Maeve was such a shock for me. Her “Bad Girl” attitude, her petulance, her pettiness, her cruelty, all of them should have been kind of expected, but they weren’t, for whatever reason. The fact that she’s throwing a party where mortal musicians are dropping dead is really something, and gives you a pretty solid understanding of who she is from the instant you meet her.
Harry manages to get the information he wanted, although it costs the Winter Knight; Lloyd Slate is not supposed to have given Harry that info, and Maeve serves up her retribution in the form of a needle in the man’s arm. It’s pretty obvious anyway that it isn’t her, though, because the job was neat and clean and difficult to track, which does not seem like Maeve’s style.
This is a really fun section and I’m super glad that RoShawn has been enjoying it, and I hope you have too! Thanks for listening, and I will see you soon with the next episode of Justified!
