Hello, listeners! I was finally able to use this image, which I’ve been sort of sitting on ever since I got the book in the mail. Isn’t it gorgeous? I love all the background details of the seed organizer and tools and whatnot. It’s just a lovely, busy illustration that gets across the homey quality of Hagrid’s hut while also reminding us it’s probably a disaster most of the time.
These chapters are the ones where Ron and Harry have forgotten all about Hagrid’s case, and Hermione has to come and tearfully remind them once she gets the news that Buckbeak is on deathrow. RoShawn and I are also bad friends, and had compltely forgotten about this whole subplot (which, if I’m not mistaken, is what happened on the first re-through as well). Oops, sorry Hagrid. You’re just kind of not as interesting as Sirius Black.
Also this is the chapter when Snape catches Harry coming back from Hogsmeade after Harry chucks mud at Malfoy, and then Snape tries to get the Marauder’s Map to “reveal its secrets” to him. It’s hilarious and also kind of sad when we know just what Snape went through at the hands of James Potter. Lupin, however, is not amused and reprimands Harry pretty sternly for gambling his life away by going out where he could get nabbed by Sirius Black just to get some candy and shit.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy these episodes, and I will see you next week! Don’t forget to check out AccioBox.com and use code UNSPOILED for 10% off your first 3 boxes, and if someone you love still needs an illustrated copy of Prisoner Of Azkaban, you can order it here!
