Listeners! It’s time for the next installment of Stranger Things, one of the few series in which we cover more than one episode at a time. In this one we get the next full arc of the story, beginning with Will’s “possession” by the shadow monster and ending with his betrayal of the scientists when he sends them into a trap. Well, technically it’s not Will that does that, but for a minute we think it is.
Will is super creepy this episode.
Meanwhile, Maggie has come around to the same conclusion that most of the viewing public has, which is that Steve is the most fun and likeable character right now, which is just such an unexpected development that I think all of America is a little surprised by that. But you know what, he’s earned it, and he keeps on earning it by being a brave motherfucker and defending a bunch of kids from adolescent Demogorgons, so Nancy I’m thinking that maybe you should rethink your stance on this dude.
Also poor Hopper gets basically abducted by a bunch of evil plants and has to get a Silkwood shower before he’s allowed to be around people again, and when he’s finally able to get to a radio to try to get in touch with Eleven, she’s already gone and you can tell he feels like shit about it. Eleven, meanwhile, is feeling pretty shitty herself as she has finally located her mother who is basically trapped in a waking nightmare after “Papa” fried her fucking brain.
This show, I swear to god.
Thanks so much for listening, and I will see you soon with the final episode!
